ESC Volunteer Opportunities

Dombfalva is a complex and unusual project that tries to connect different but fundamental areas of life, because we consider that their separation is an important social problem.
We carry out a wide range of activities, from eco-conscious architecture through landscape rehabilitation to various cultural programs. Approaching all of this with a community approach and with the aim of connecting the knowledge we have acquired in different areas and passing this on as widely as possible.

One of our focuses is sustainable architecture and promoting an eco-conscious lifestyle. We would like to draw attention to the importance of environmental protection and teach our volunteers how to live a more economical and environmentally friendly life  Our volunteers will be able to learn about the site's water management, the architectural use of wood, clay and straw, the environmental and economic benefits of using local materials, and the energy efficiency of available architectural solutions. And as we are managing our “from farm to kitchen” system the volunteer has the opportunity to learn about sustainable food resource management.

Other main focus is youth work. We have multiple trainings that rises awareness and develop skills or prevent burnout in the field of youth work especially in terms of work with NEET youth. Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about non formal education, youth work, art therapy and building community. And with the support of a mentor you will have the chance to start your own local youth work initiation.

The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a European Union initiative offering young people (18-30) the opportunity to volunteer, participate in solidarity projects, and gain professional experience. ESC promotes active citizenship and social inclusion through meaningful community involvement.
With us, ESC participants can engage in eco-construction, environmental activism, bio farming, land regenerative practices, and activities focused on promoting an alternative rural lifestyle.

However, we can also accept volunteers for shorter periods outside of this framework. For such questions, please feel free to contact us by email or on our Facebook page.
